Before you book.
The questions we get most — about money, trust, coverage, and the logistics of moving day.
Local moves are hourly — from $129/hr for two movers and a truck, with a 2-hour minimum; bigger homes use a larger crew. Long-distance is priced by weight and mileage. Use the instant estimator for a ballpark, then we put a real number in writing after a free survey.
No large up-front deposit. You pay after the work is done. Demanding a big cash deposit to “hold” your move is a classic rogue-mover red flag — we don’t do it, and you should be wary of anyone who does.
A binding estimate guarantees the total price based on the inventory and services listed — the price is the price. A non-binding estimate is the mover’s best guess and can change, though by law a non-binding mover can’t charge you more than 110% of it at delivery. For long-distance, we recommend a binding estimate, in writing.
Per FMCSA rules, every interstate move includes free Released Value Protection ($0.60 per pound per item). You can upgrade to Full Value Protection, where we repair or replace damaged items, for an added charge. We explain both in writing before you choose; full coverage is worth it for valuable shipments.
We’re registered with the FMCSA — USDOT 3194872 and MC-1184026 for interstate authority — and licensed in Colorado (PUC HHG-00471), with cargo and liability insurance. You can verify any interstate mover, including us, at protectyourmove.gov. We also provide the FMCSA “Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move” booklet for interstate moves.
It depends on size and access. As a rough guide: a studio runs 2–3 hours, a 1BR 3–5, a 2BR 4–7, and a 3BR 6–9 — longer with stairs, long carries, or full packing. The estimator gives you a tailored window.
Yes. We can deliver pro-grade boxes before move day, or do the packing for you — partial (just the kitchen and fragiles) or a full pack. Materials are billed at cost, and we can unpack and haul away the debris at the other end.
Yes — it’s one of the things we’re known for. Pianos, gun safes, pool tables, art, antiques, and gym equipment get the right boards, skids, straps, and crating, plus a rigging plan for stairs and tight doorways. Specialty items are a flat add-on, quoted after a quick survey.
We offer storage-in-transit in a climate-controlled, inventoried warehouse — short- or long-term, insured while stored. We hold your things between homes and re-deliver on your schedule, all coordinated with your move.
Yes. For commercial and many high-rise residential moves, we provide a Certificate of Insurance (COI) naming your building/management per their requirements, usually within a day of request. Just send us the building’s requirements.
